Fr. Pat

What do you do at Brettargh?
I am a Salesian priest with a background in teaching and youth work. I
drive up from Bolton two or three times a term and join the team to
celebrate Mass for the school groups. If possible I stay for the whole
retreat.
Tell us about your family...
I grew up in South London. My two younger brothers are both married and
I have two nieces and two nephews. Mum and Dad are waiting for us in
heaven. Dad came from a big Irish family and I have dozens of cousins
and second cousins in various parts of Ireland.
Sweet or savoury?
I enjoy a wide range of food. I've rarely been known to refuse anything!
If you could be one thing, what would it be and why?
I would like to be better at recognising and understanding the needs of
young people, so that I might be more helpful to them.
Choose one person to be stuck in a lift with...
I'll talk to anyone, but I'm better at listening than at speaking, so I
would prefer someone who could keep the conversation going.
A final thought from you?
The Salesian way of working with young people is full of joy and
optimism. It is wonderful to be able to share this with the sisters,
the retreat team and the groups of young people who come to Brettargh Holt: a real experience of the Salesian Family.
