About Us

What can the Time Out Project offer?

Everyone needs time out to escape from the pressures of life and the "Time Out Project" gives people (the young and not-so-young!) the space to reflect in a relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings, where each individual person is welcomed and appreciated for who they are.

The TOP team offer the following experiences:

  • Youth Residential Experience
  • Secondary School Retreat and Leadership days
  • Primary School days and residentials
  • Sacramental Preparation
  • Staff In-Service days
  • Adult group
  • Hospitality offered to Self-led Groups
  • Renewal Days

We also run individual programmes according to request.

A large multi-purpose hall can be booked for day groups.

There is also a self-catering unit, the L.V.C.

See our What we can offer page for more details.

History:

In 1971, Brettargh Holt was bought by the Salesian Sisters and in the early 1980’s, it became a Youth Pastoral Retreat centre, with particular emphasis on the young.

Over the years, the sisters have adapted their programmes and style of working to the needs of those who visit the centre.

The project has been able to develop effectively with the help of the wider Salesian family and the community surrounding. In 2002, the Time Out Project became a registered charity.
